2014 Labor Day - DUI Campaign

August 13th 2014 thru September 1st 2014

The 2014 national drunk driving enforcement crackdown, "Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over", goes into effect across the country from August 13 to September 1, 2014. One of the deadliest and most often committed - yet preventable - drunk driving, has become a serious safety epidemic in our country and Addison County law enforcement agencies will be out with High Visibility patrols and check points.

"Be aware for those who drive drunk and/or buzzed, We'll see you before you see us!" - ACSD

Manifesto Online

Texting while driving is a serious problem on America's roads. Seventy-one percent of young people say they have sent a text while driving. As a result thousands of people die every year in crashes related to distracted driving.

2014 NATIONAL CLICK IT OR TICKET ENFORCEMENT
(MAY 19 - JUNE 1, 2014)

In a combined multi-agency team event Addison County Law enforcement agencies will be out on Addison County highways looking for seatbelt violations. Expect increased patrols thru out Addison County highways and "Safety Check Points".

Enforcement Anytime:

• Day or night, local law enforcement officers are on the lookout for those not wearing their seat belts--and for good reason. In 2012, 61 percent of passenger vehicle occupants killed at night (6 p.m. – 5:59 a.m.) were not wearing their seat belts.

• Local law enforcement officers are actually trained to spot seat belt violations at all times of the day, so just because it’s dark, don’t think they won’t be able to spot unbelted drivers.
